Tuba Scuba

If I was a tuba
My song would be deep chest
Like a big bell tolling distant
Lower and depressed

If I was a tuba
So much brass of which to speak
Curled and formulated
Impossible to sneak

If I was a tuba
I may be drowned out by the shrills
The piccolo and alto
The parts laid out for frills

If I was a tuba
I’d be buddy buddy with the bass
The underground swell volcanic
Earthy eruption low displaced

It’s not bad being a tuba
Though they put us in the back
The sound is really great I hear
Where the first indeed is last
