“Look at me, Daddy!”
It’s not an accomplishment
Until we know Daddy has seen it.
Being seen is what matters.

“Go get Daddy!”
A scratch and whimper are Mommy’s;
Screams and blood call for Daddy.
Daddy can fix us.

“Sit with me, Daddy!”
Doing what Daddy’s doing,
Daddy doing what we’re doing.
Union and communion.

“Where is Daddy?”
His absence is felt
As strongly as his presence.
We want him where we are..

“Lord, have mercy!”
These are what we mean
No matter when, where and it’s said.
We need the Father with us.
